Move: Click and drag the mouse on the arrow corresponding to
the axis in which you want to move the object.
Rotate: Click and drag the mouse in the arc representing the axis
you want to use for a rotation.
Scale: Click and drag in the small squares at the end of each line
representing an axis.
A quick way to change the gizmo type is with the SHIFT+SPACEBAR
keys. By pressing those keys in the 3D Viewport, you will open a small
menu with shortcuts for all three transformations. There is also an option
with the name of Transform, which will create a "super" gizmo with all
three operations appearing simultaneously.
Tip: You can toggle the 3D Viewport Toolbar using the T key. By default,
you will only see vertical icons as the Toolbar, but you can expand it by
placing the mouse cursor at the right border of your icons. Once it turns
to a double-sided arrow, you can click and drag to expand.
Even with the gizmo offering a visual tool to apply transformations, you
will find that most artists using Blender prefer to use keyboard shortcuts
to perform transformations. You can quickly implement a transformation
using the following shortcuts:
